Why Mary, Martha and e? I have always been sympathic to Martha. And for the most part I am a Martha. Most of my friends are Martha. Martha was a 21st century woman who lived over two thousand years ago. She was an "IN CHARGE" kinda gal. I am sure if you wanted something done, you went to Martha.
Now I am not naive nor am I arrogant. I understand the message in the Mary and Martha story. We would all like to be a Mary, sitting at the feet of Jesus and just inhaling his presence. But, the fact is into day's world it's seems impossible to be a Mary. And in comparing ourselves to Mary and trying to be like Mary, we set ourselves up for failure.
So how do we live as Martha yet sit at the feet of Jesus and inhale his presence?
Just as Julie Powell decided to cook her way through Julia Child's Mastering The Art of French Cooking, it is possible to live our lives as Martha and sit at the feet of Jesus..
It should be our daily recipe: Mastering The Art of Daily Sitting With Jesus.
